Princess Martha Louise of Norway married American Durek Verrett, a self-proclaimed shaman, in a private ceremony at a hotel in Geiranger, western Norway, on Saturday.
The wedding ended this Saturday after two days of celebrations that were carried out in secrecy and with great care to avoid leaks of images of the couple, since they sold the exclusive to a gossip magazine and there was also a Netflix team present.
The princess’s parents, King Harald and Queen Sonja, attended the wedding along with other members of the royal family and royalty from Sweden and the Netherlands.
Also present were Marta Luisa’s three daughters from her first marriage to the late Norwegian writer Ari Behn. There were about 350 guests in total.
California native Verrett and Princess Martha Louise have announced their intention to marry in 2022, causing a split in Norway. The princess has renounced her rights and obligations as a member of the royal family.
