Pope Francis heads to Papua New Guinea after his visit to Indonesia

September 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Pope Francis headed to Papua New Guinea on Friday after finishing his visit to Indonesia as part of his 12-day tour of Asia and Oceania to promote interreligious dialogue, continue evangelizing Asia and send a clear message to stop climate change while testing his physical abilities at a time when he is struggling with various health problems.

The Pope will remain in the country for two days, until Sunday, where he is scheduled to meet with authorities and civil society, visit a girls’ school founded by the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and meet with pastoral leaders in Papua and the Solomon Islands, according to the Vatican news portal.

The flight is scheduled to land at 18:50 local time at Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby, and will begin its schedule the following day.
