The Police of the German city of Dortmund have dismantled a pro-Palestinian protest after the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg announced her visit, since the authorities have considered that the 21-year-old girl is “potentially violent” and that her appearance could have attracted more people than allowed.

“The latest developments surrounding Thunberg led to the assessment that she could be a participant willing to use violence. After intensive examination in the context of a risk assessment, the Police ordered the ban and subsequent dissolution of the rally” , he has indicated.

The protest camp, which had been in place for several months, has been peacefully dismantled, without Thunberg ever showing up. The decision came one day after the anniversary of October 7, marked by numerous pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel marches throughout Germany.

In Berlin, protesters, who chanted anti-Israel slogans, threw bottles at the police and attacked representatives of the media. Thunberg, who has repeatedly expressed solidarity with the Palestinian population and has accused Israel of genocide, was present at that demonstration, reports the German news agency DPA.
