The Pokémon Company acted to stop the shortage of Pokémon TCG cards
In full swing, The Pokémon Company said it was aware of the shortage problem and reported that it had already taken action to combat this problem and that it would produce more cards “as soon as possible and at maximum capacity”. Well, today we know that he did and that he did not take it lightly.
We say this because The Pokémon Company ramped up production so much that it produced 9 billion (9 billion) cards in 2021 alone. This is more than double the numbers from 2020, when 3.7 billion cards were produced.

Since 1997, when the card game debuted, more than 43.2 billion cards have been produced. In fact, more than a quarter of that figure occurred between 2020 and 2022, as it was the only period in which demand exceeded supply.
The upside to this increase in production is that The Pokémon Company will not only make it easier for consumers to find the products, but it will also cause card prices on the secondary or resale market to drop as a result of the overabundance of cards.
