Pokémon Sword & Shield are close to saying goodbye to their players ahead of the launch of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. However, he wants to celebrate with his loyal users his last moments of support with one more event that will bring the steeds of the expansion The Crown Tundra to Raids and that it will offer a lot of valuable resources… but that could disappoint many.
The Pokémon Company surprisingly announced that Pokémon Sword & Shield are holding a new Wild Area event that allows players to battle against the Fierce Steed and Swift Steed Pokémon, we’re talking about Glacier and Spectrier.

Is it possible to catch Glastrier and Spectrier in Battle Raids? Pokémon Sword & Shield?
This event is amazing because if the player and their online allies manage to beat them they will receive rewards such as Dynite Ore, Armorite Ore and Exp. Candy XL, Bottle Cap, Gold Bottle Cap and even Abbility Capsules, resources that are not easily obtained.
The bad news that may disappoint all players is that it will not be possible to catch either of these 2 Pokémon, but when they are defeated they will flee. This is discouraging, as players were hoping to catch them (you can only catch one of them in a match, like Urshifu’s builds) or that their shiny version would break free.
In case you missed it: An important distribution of Pokémon is underway, but unfortunately Mexico and other regions of Latin America were left out.
Do I need Nintendo Switch Online to fight Glastier and Spectrier in Raid Battles?
It is important to mention that an active Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to enable this event. It is only necessary to go to Mystery Gift or Mystery Gift in the menu and select the option to receive the news of the Wild Area (Get Wild Area News, through an Internet connection). Once this is done, players will be able to find these creatures in 5-star Dynamax Raids and you will need to visit a lot of Lairs or Dens as well as a lot of Wishing Pieces to find them (you can do this as many times as you want, but you might end up staying no Watts, as they are needed to purchase Wish Chunks).
As we mentioned, it is not necessary to play with friends, but it is recommended, since both steeds are extremely strong and it is very difficult for the player with the help of 3 NPCs to defeat them.
The event will be available until next Sunday, October 23 around 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM (Mexico City time), so we recommend you play as soon as possible.
The Pokémon Company revealed a few days ago that Pokémon Sword & Shield will receive their latest update on November 1 that will mark the end of support for Wild Area News (in-game events) and new online content in general, which makes sense considering that they will be available in a few weeks Pokemon Scarlet & Violettitles that will take the lead from the main series.
That said, this may be the last Wilderness event to be held in Pokémon Sword & Shield. However, it is not known if there are any plans for the Halloween weekend.
