Pokémon GO presents the dark raids during the Rising Shadows event

The title that allows you to be a Pokémon trainer now introduces a new mechanic: dark raids. Through the official blog of Pokémon GOthe company Niantic shared some details of the highly anticipated May event.

“Shadows spread across the world as Team GO Rocket grows ever bolder. Now they have figured out how to use Shadow Pokémon to defend Gyms. These new Dark Raids are unlike any other challenge you’ve faced in Pokémon GO.”, details Niantic.

It’s not just Giovanni, his team of trainers, and the Shadow Pokémon, but MewTwo has gotten involved in the conflict as well. This is your chance to win and if you’re lucky you’ll find a Shini or Shiny version of Dark MewTwo.

From Monday May 22 to May 28, players will be able to fight in modified raids. Only on Saturday, May 27 until the end of the event, will Dark MewTwo appear in the raids.

The rest of the raids will remain normal, but the gyms you find may be controlled by dark raid bosses.
