Pokémon GO Fest Madrid has closed with more than 190,000 coaches playing this mobile augmented reality video game throughout the city, around 70 percent of them coming from outside Spain.

The 2024 European edition of the largest in-person event in the game has been held between on June 14 and 16with an experience divided into two locations: the Juan Carlos I Park, in the district of Barajas, and the rest of the city of Madrid.

In the Juan Carlos I Park They captured 6.6 million Pokémon and the average distance traveled per person was 16.4 km. There, different game habitats were prepared, which combined with the areas already existing in the Park, some of them being the Portal of the Dawn, the Cursed Forest and the Mysterious Labyrinth. The ‘Football Experience’ was also installed.

The activation in the city of Niantic for the Go Fest, located in Nuevos Ministerios, acted as a connection center between the park and the city.

In Madrid, for their part, they prepared five official Pokémon GO routes in collaboration with the City Council, with the aim that participants could discover the city “in a different way” and get to know some of the most interesting places in both the historic and commercial center and the neighborhoods, as noted in a press release.

Altogether, the organization estimates that more than 190,000 players have participated in Go Fest Madrid, and highlights the presence of coaches from outside Spain, which reaches approximately 70 percent.

From Niantic they remember that on July 13 and 14 will be celebrated Pokémon GO Fest Global, in which trainers can participate for free from anywhere in the world, although to have a more complete experience, with access to special bonuses and rewards and an encounter with the exclusive Pokémon Marshadow, a ticket will be required.
