At the beginning of 2023, The Pokémon Company announced a new production in collaboration with Netflix, Pokemon Concierge. In recent months there was no news about the project, but today a new trailer, the release window and more details were finally revealed.
As part of Anime Expo 2023, the company’s anime division took the opportunity to share more information about Haru and his tropical adventure in Pokemon Concierge.
As the name suggests, Haru will be the concierge at an island resort he has just arrived on. In a new trailer, it was revealed that the main character will be brought to life by actress Non, known for participating in the NHK live-action series. amachanapart from having given his voice to Otaka in the anime Onihei.
In the new trailer it is possible to see Haru at the reception and it is also possible to see Lampent and Psyduck.

Additionally, Netflix shared a look at the dwarf studio, responsible for the project and thanks to this visit we can see some of the production dioramas and techniques to create special effects. The director of the project, Iku Ogawa, reports that photographs of Non were taken while she was recording Haru’s lines and from them they created the character’s various facial expressions.
“I had a lot of Fun [interpretando a Haru]”, Non expressed. “He works very hard, but sometimes things don’t work out for him. It’s endearing to me. I’m a bit of a daredevil too, so it was great to feel a connection to the character. Although many things go wrong and [Haru] get mad, Pokémon are always going to be there for her. For this project, the studio will use the stop motion technique, which consists of making a film from photographs to a diorama, giving the sensation that the characters come to life. In the dioramas you can see Pokémon like Eevee, Bulbasaur, Panpour, Pansage and Pansear.
In the trailer at the beginning of the year, Netflix promised that Pokemon Concierge It would debut “soon”, but in the end the premiere will take place later than expected, since in the new advance it was revealed that the series will be ready until next December.
