Ash vs. Cynthia, the dream come true

In this new season, one of the most important events in the 25-year history of the series is taking place, as the World Coronation Series is being held, precisely the Masters Eight, the division that currently recognizes the 8 best anime coaches.

It has already passed the stage of the quarterfinals and a semifinal. The other semi-final just started today and what is remarkable is that for the first time it made possible a battle between Cynthia and Ash Ketchum in a world championship.

You read that right, Ash is among the top 8 coaches in the world Pokemon from the anime and is looking for a ticket to the grand finale and become the ultimate Pokémon trainer. In the 24 seasons of the series this had never happened, although Cynthia and Ash knew each other.

Did Cynthia beat Ash in the anime? Pokemon?

The battle began today, but we will have to wait to find out the final winner, since it seems that it will include 3 chapters. Extensive combat is not only seen in dragon ball or in Naruto.

However, Cynthia is ahead, because although she has already used 4 Pokémon, only 2 were weakened: Gastrodon and Spiritomb, while Ash has already beaten the 3 he has used: Gengar, Dragonite and his faithful Pikachu, which, by the way, Incidentally, he was the one who managed to take out the Sinnoh champion’s Pokémon. The standout Pokémon, however, is Cynthia’s Spiritomb, which managed to take down 3 of Cynthia’s Pokémon.

Unlike the other semifinal, starring Leonel (Hop’s brother and current Masters Eight champion) and Diantha (Kalos champion), this semifinal left a better taste in the mouth. We say this because in the previous one many consider that the script favored Leonel so much that it seemed rude: suffice it to say that Rillaboom defeated 4 of Diantha’s Pokémon, while she only defeated 2 (Dragapult and Rillaboom) before his Gardevoir lost to Leonel’s Gigantamax Charizard.

So among the top 8 were Iris, Lance, Alain and Steven. Ash earned his place in the semi-final after defeating the latter, the Hoenn champion. Diantha did the same with Lance (legendary Dragon-type master).

One detail to note is that at the beginning of the battle against Ash, Cynthia confessed that she is thinking of retiring from Pokémon battles after all this.
