On the French portal dealabs claim to have received information about the next variant of Sony’s PlayStation 5 console.
According to rumours, it will be called PlayStation 5 Pro, or for short: PS5 Pro, as expected. Its design will be somewhat more stylized, with a thinner base and a wider top area and with a design similar to the current PS5 slim but with more thickness. There are some changes, such as wider side areas with three stripes each, but the panels of the current model could be compatible with the new one.
On the front, it will have a power button and two USB-C ports and, at least according to the image that has been received, it will not have an optical drive reader (although that does not mean that there will not be a version with one as well). The DualSense controller will be the same, and the PS5 Pro is expected to be announced during the month of September.
As is often the case, these rumours need to be taken with a grain of salt, especially in this case where the outlet claims to have received a photograph of the console box but has not published it, citing “copyright” (something that makes little sense in the case of a leak like this), instead they have shown the sketch that illustrates the article.
Previous rumors pointed to a release at the end of the year, just in time for the Christmas season, and with a considerable increase in graphical power.
