PlayStation 4 exceeds by "more than double" xbox one sales

Xbox One has not been able to face its main competitor, Playstation 4which would have managed to sell more than twice as many units as the Microsoft console, as the company itself has indicated in court documents in a competition case in Brazil.

Xbox One sales data became unavailable in fiscal 2016, when the tech company opted to highlight the users of its online service. Its main competitor, the PlayStation 4, is known to have sold 117.2 million units since its launch, according to figures shared by Sony in March.

On the occasion of a competition case in Brazil related to the Activision Blizzard acquisition agreement, it has been known that “Sony surpassed Microsoft in terms of console sales and installed base, having sold more than twice as many Xboxes in the last generation.” As the company itself points out in a court documentcollected by TheVerge.

According to the latest data from Sony, Xbox One would have sold around 58.5 million of units, a figure that is close to the estimate made by the firm Ampere Analysis in 2020, when it indicated sales of 51 million consoles.
