It is very common for role-playing games to feature multiple romance options. Undoubtedly, the possibilities have become more diverse today and it is possible for players to find an option that suits their preferences and tastes. Well then, Baldur’s Gate 3 raised the bar.
After a long wait, the fantasy RPG is just around the corner and will debut at the beginning of August. To make the wait much more enjoyable, Larian Studios made a special live broadcast where he explained the story, the new systems and much more in detail.
At one point during the event, the developer studio revealed how the romance will work in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the possibilities it will offer. Love relationships are one of the important parts of the adventure and will affect its development in one way or another. For example, it is possible to opt for polyamory, which will lead to unique dynamics.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will have plenty of romance options; some will be very strange
Of course, one of the romances stood out for obvious reasons. We talk about the relationship with Halsin, a shapeshifter who can become a teammate in the RPG. In the presentation, the developers confirmed that this character may be a romantic interest.
In one of the cutscenes that was shown, we see the player talking to Halsin in the woods. As the conversation progresses, it is possible to become intimately involved. At one point, the shapeshifter becomes excited and transforms into a bear, only to immediately revert to his human form and apologize in embarrassment.
It is here that the player decides the direction the sequence will take. Although it is possible to proceed with a conventional relationship or stop the conversation to leave the area, you can also choose to calm Halsin down and ask him to return to his bear form. During the event, it was the fans who dictated all the decisions of the scene. Of course, they chose the less conventional options, which demonstrate all the possibilities that the romance system of Baldur’s Gate 3. Interestingly, Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios, revealed that the bear scene caused the studio to receive a TikTok ban.
