Despite being the youtuber with the second most subscribers and having a very high level of popularity, the legend Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, will say goodbye to YouTube for a good reason.
The content creator became famous on the video platform in the past decade thanks to his video game gameplays such as Minecraft, Five Nights at Freddy’s and slender. Although he hadn’t uploaded videos as frequently in recent months, PewDiePie continued to entertain his more than 111 million subscribers with weekly videos.
The content of the videos was also somewhat different, since it was more common to see videos of his experiences with his wife Marzia “CutiePieMarzia” Kjellberg in Japan, after they both moved to the Asian country to make their lives there.

Why is PewDiePie leaving YouTube?
As part of this new stage in their lives, the Kjellberg couple had planned to have a child and at the beginning of 2023 they confirmed that they would become parents. The birth of the couple’s firstborn is coming, which is why PewDiePie said goodbye to YouTube.
You read it right, the content creator will leave the platform to spend time with his family, since the role of a father is very demanding and he wants to enjoy it to the fullest, apart from the fact that he certainly does not have the need to make daily or weekly videos.
“It’s very close… I’m close to becoming a dad. I’m very very very excited. I don’t know what it’s going to be like,” Kjellberg said. “I don’t know if I’m going to have time to make videos, it will be chaos… I don’t know.”
In case you missed it: PewDiePie was mysteriously banned from Twitch.
Kjellberg did not mention how long he will be gone, but hinted that it will be a temporary goodbye, something that fans celebrated by wishing him well.
“But I guess I won’t be uploading videos for a while. I just want to say ‘thank you’ for all the support on these vlogs, we’re so happy you liked them and we could share a little bit of our lives here, but for now we think We’re taking a break until we get back again and I just wanted to let you know. Thank you.”
It is important to mention that 1 day after the announcement, PewDiePie uploaded a new video. This does not mean that the farewell was not serious, but rather that the content creator had already prepared this video and simply published it before the break to be taken.
