PETRONAS is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its BeDigital Bootcamp series for the year with the 10th cohort, which also marked the program’s entry into the Northern Peninsula Region.

With the completion of 10 cohorts supported by a total of 27 local universities and over 90 recruitment partners, the bootcamp has digitally trained 860 students with 276 successful job matches since it was first introduced in 2022.

Held at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pulau Pinang in Permatang Pauh, the latest cohort saw a total of 98 final-year students from five universities: UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Perlis and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. This is BeDigital’s fifth destination for 2024, following its bootcamps in the East Coast and Southern Region, as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, in the presence of Datuk Ir. Bacho Pilong.

Led primarily by PETRONAS talents in collaboration with technology partners, the 12-day programme aims to strengthen students’ digital literacy, improve employment prospects, enhance marketability and explore digital entrepreneurship in support of the nation’s digital aspirations.

The modules, which are regularly updated based on market needs, include in-demand digital skills such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, as well as effective presentation skills tested through a “shark tank pitch”.
