President Gustavo Petro would propose to the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, to build a tram along the seventh career, instead of a TransMilenio trunk.
(This is the green corridor proposed by Claudia López for the Seventh).
This has been pointed out by the Minister of Transport, Guillermo Reyes, in various media.
It is even rumored that the Government had already established a conversation with the district president in which its commitment to this important road corridor, axis of mobility in the city of Bogotá, was reaffirmed.
“President Gustavo Petro wants to show the mayor that the tramway option is the most viable solution,” Reyes explained.
(What’s next for the Seventh race if TransMilenio no longer goes?).
He argued that the construction costs of this transport system are lower than those of TransMilenio and, in addition, he said, they are more environmentally friendly.
The so-called Green Corridor of the Seventh contemplates three sections: the first is the Seventh Center (1st Street – 40th Street); the second is the Seventh Chapinero (40th Street – 100th Street); and the third, Septima Usaquén (100th Street – 200th Street).
Contradictors to the measure assure that if this initiative is executed, the renovation project of Carrera Séptima would end and a key work for the mobility of Bogotá would cease to be carried out.
