Through a message on his X account, Colombian President Gustavo Petro referred this Saturday, December 28, to the adjustments that the allocation of subsidies will have next year, announced by the director of the Department of Social Prosperity (DPS), Gustavo Bolivar.

Recently, Bolívar had reported on the elimination of the Colombia without Hunger program.

In this regard, President Petro said that “This announcement by (Gustavo) Bolívar as head of the DPS marks a change of direction in the use of subsidies”.

In the publication, the head of state said that the subsidies should be allocated to the elderly that would increase from 1.7 to 2.8 million people, with the implementation of the pension reformthrough a bonus.

Likewise, he said that subsidies must reach children under 6 years of age, “children of poor women heads of household”through the Care Income program.

Finally, he assured that for the rest of the population, until now subsidized, such as young people and poor parents with children over 6 years old, productive cooperatives must be set up so that they receive credits for production.

In his message, he said that youth and women’s cooperatives will be our priority in 2025.
