MADRID Nov. 1 () –
The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, announced this Friday that a Colombian has died and another 32 are missing as a result of DANA that has devastated parts of Valencia (Spain).
In a message published on his X social network account, the president of Colombia has ordered the relevant authorities to prepare “for massive requests for returns and humanitarian aid.”
The torrential rains have left a provisional total of 202 deaths in Valencia alone, to which we must add, for the moment, two other deaths in Castilla la Mancha and a third in Andalusia.
The Colombian president, for his part, has regretted that DANA has caused “hundreds of Colombians to be cut off from communication, without electricity, water and food, along with dozens of families who lost housing and belongings.”
“At the Embassy and the consulate we have a command post and we coordinate all the aid,” added Petro, who will consult with the Court of the State Council on the possibility of even declaring a catastrophe situation to facilitate the return tasks of its citizens.
