Peruvian police deploy operations due to public transport strike

( Spanish) – The National Police of Peru, through the Directorate of Traffic, Transportation and Road Safety, deployed operations at various points since Wednesday morning in response to the national strike called by transport unions and social organizations to demand a response from the Government to the rise. of crime in Peru, the security body reported in a statement, in which it assured that they would support minimizing the effects on public roads.

While demonstrations are still expected to emerge in different cities, this morning was able to confirm that there are some public transport buses circulating on the streets of Lima, the country’s capital.

The president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, expressed this Wednesday her support for the cause of this mobilization and assured that the criminals who threaten security will soon be caught. The president also called not to divide.

“We sympathize with your concern for a safer Peru and we tell you that we will not cease in the task of combating crime with intelligence actions and operations of our brave National Police. Day by day, more criminals who have made extortion their way of life are falling and soon their leaders, both national and foreign, will also fall, for the peace of mind of housewives, students, workers, all of us,” said Boluarte. .
