The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru has reported that the process for the evacuation of 73 citizens in Lebanon has begun and has confirmed that it has already been able to remove ten fellow citizens who were in the country from the country.
“The Ministry has registered and maintains contact with 73 nationals residing in Lebanon. At the moment, ten Peruvian citizens have been evacuated, who have been voluntarily transferred to a safe area in the north of that country,” the Ministry has published in a statement.
However, some Peruvians have expressed their desire to remain in their place of residence. The Consular Section of the Embassy of Peru in Egypt will maintain permanent contact with Peruvian citizens in Lebanon.
Israel launched a new “targeted bombing” on Friday against a residential area of Beirut where Hezbollah’s “headquarters” were located. Victims of this attack were both Nasrallah and other senior officials of a militia, which in just two weeks has seen Israel eliminate its leadership.
