20 Jan. (Portaltic/EP) –

Perplexity has announced the news of its seeker namesake, a tool based on the technology of conversational artificial intelligence (AI) that allows you to maintain a dialog and shows the updated sources on which you base your answers.

The application of conversation models to search engines has been at the heart of Google’s rethinking of its artificial intelligence strategy, since the arrival of what has become its main rival, OpenAI with its Chatbot ChatGPT.

However, those of both companies are not the only works in conversational AI, as demonstrated by Perplexity AI, a response engine that offers results for complex questions using for them language models.

The team responsible for this tool qualifies it as “the world’s first conversational search engine”, although for the moment it has limitations, as they warn in the perplexity page.

In this, it offers a search bar, in which the user enters the terms on which he wants to consult, and accesses a response by way of definition, which links to the sources from which the information has been extracted.

These sources are up to datea novelty implemented in the last update, together with a lower search bar that allows continue asking from said answer, as if you were conversing with the search engine, as its managers point out On twitter.

The answers it offers are accurate, but this accuracy “is limited to search results and AI capabilities,” its creators warn. It can also “generate offensive or dangerous content.”
