The Pentagon announced this Monday an additional deployment of troops to the Middle East amid speculation of a possible ground offensive by the Israeli Army in southern Lebanon to combat the Shiite militia party Hezbollah.
The deputy spokesperson for the Pentagon, Sabrina Singh, detailed in a press conference that these additional forces will be made up mostly of squadrons and combat aircraft units, as reported by the Bloomberg news agency.
This Pentagon announcement comes amid speculation about a possible ground offensive in southern Lebanon by the Israeli Army to combat the Shiite militia party Hezbollah amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
