This week, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation released the first National Strategy on CTCI.
The strategy is made up of three fundamental pillars: the first, to achieve development by incorporating the continuous generation of knowledge into the country, and the second, that this must be done while preserving sustainability, biodiversity, and ecosystems. And the third, that science should promote equity and inclusion in the resulting society.
These three pillars are shared by the South-subantarctic Science2030 Consortium, which arises after the union of 6 universities from Talca to Magallanes, and which the UACh leads from its Faculty of Sciences. As a Consortium we seek to promote Science, Technology, Knowledge, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in our Faculties of Sciences based on a model that goes from our regional universities, with emphasis on our territories and their local problems, and with a perspective of systematic collaboration with companies .
Within the framework of these ideas, one of our first actions was the creation of the CiSTEAM virtual center, which seeks to contribute to the training of professionals who will innovate the future from the sciences. Based on the work of the center with academics, academics, and students, we hope that future scientific professionals who are trained between now and 2030 will be able to insert these 3 pillars into their DNA: knowledge generation, sustainability, and inclusion.
For this, we work to strengthen their skills so that they have the necessary tools for the development of scientific-technologically based innovation projects, the generation of scientific ventures, the formation of interdisciplinary teams, and the generation of solutions to challenges. of the environment.
From the Ciencia2030 Consortium we are committed to this task, and from the regional point of view of the 6 universities, we will continue with the implementation to promote capacities in Research, Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship based on scientific technology because we are convinced that our country must incorporate the science and technology for development.
