PCs with Snapdragon X Elite will be able to run more games and apps thanks to a new version of Microsoft's X64 Emulator

Although it is surprising what the x86-64 instruction emulation system that Microsoft has achieved in Windows 11 ARM and a large number of programs work without problems on computers with processors such as Snapdragon X Elitethe truth is that there are certain applications, especially games, that are not able to function correctly in this Prism emulator.

Microsoft wants to solve this and has already begun testing a new improved version of the emulator integrated into Windows 11 ARM.

This new variant will be capable of running games that use instructions with the AVX, AVX2, BMI, FMA and F16C extensions in 64-bit applications, also allowing you to run programs that did not have native ARM versions and were not yet compatible with the emulation system. .

This new emulator is now available in the version 27744 from the Windows 11 Insider Previewin limited mode, and allows you to run programs like Adobe Premiere Pro 25. Hopefully it won’t take too long to see it reach the final versions.

Without a doubt, if it delivers on what it promises, it will be a very interesting leap in terms of enhancing the versatility of Windows 11 ARM and also of devices with Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chips.
