The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has forecast that some 600,000 Indian tourists will visit Pattaya this year, a figure similar to pre-pandemic levels.

TAT Pattaya office director Anoma Vongyai stated that before the pandemic, more than 900,000 tourists from India came to Thailand, and approximately 600,000 visited Pattaya. In 2019, Indian tourists were the third largest group of foreign visitors after Chinese and Russians.

According to Anoma, there are two main groups of Indian tourists: seminar attendees and Free Independent Travelers (FITs). Seminar groups usually come from May to August, while FITs visit Pattaya all year.

Seminar attendees stay in various areas such as Pattaya Nua (North), Pattaya Klang (Center), Pattaya Tai (South) and Phra Tamnak Hill, while FITs prefer to stay in Pattaya Klang and Pattaya Tai for the affordable price of the rooms.

In 2019, Indian tourists were the third largest group of foreign visitors after Chinese and Russians.

Expected spending for seminar visitors is 2,000 to 3,000 baht per day, while for FIT visitors is 1,000 to 2,000 baht per day.

Apart from accommodation and meals, Anoma also noted that Indian tourists like to visit tourist attractions like Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Alcazar Cabaret and Koh Larn.
