The National Salvation Government, the ‘de facto’ parallel authorities established in 2017 in the Syrian province of Idlib at the proposal of the armed jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS), has stated this Friday that the rebel offensive against the province of Aleppo seeks “free the Syrian people from slavery.”
“The Syrian revolution has never been against any country or people, including Russia, nor is it a party to what is happening in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Rather, it is a revolution that was launched to free the Syrian people from slavery and slavery. humiliation,” he said in a statement regarding the offensive.
Thus, he has called on Russia to disassociate itself from the interests of the regime of President Bashar al Assad, whom they accuse of perpetrating continuous “bloodshed” and encouraging a “brutal criminal machine” against the Syrian people.
“We affirm that the Syrian people seek to build positive relations based on respect and mutual interest with all countries in the world, including Russia, whom we consider a potential partner to build a bright future for a free Syria,” these parallel authorities have settled. .
This comes after Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov assured that the large-scale rebel offensive “is an attack against Syrian sovereignty in this area.” Moscow has thus advocated “for the Syrian authorities to quickly restore constitutional order.”
THE REBELS ADVANCE WITHOUT COMPLICATIONS
The director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, reported this Friday that the leader of HTS, Abu Mohamed al Golani, has stated that they will not attack civilians, although the head of the London-based organization , has warned that there are many civilians fleeing the fighting in Aleppo.
In fact, he has assured that the armed rebels have entered the city without much resistance and that they have searched houses of people close to the Syrian regime in the Said al Daula neighborhood. “They are asking civilians to hand over soldiers or anyone who works for the regime forces,” he explained in an interview collected by the Observatory.
The agency has previously reported that the HTS and other allied factions now have at least five neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo under their control, including New Aleppo, Al Hamdaniya, 3000 Homes, Al Jamilliya and Salahadin.
On the other hand, the Observatory has indicated that the Syrian rebels control the town of Saraqib, in the province of Idlib, where the fighting is also concentrated. Within the framework of the offensive, more than 270 deaths have been recorded, including 93 members of the regime forces and their allies.
At least four people died during the day on Friday in an attack by the rebels against the university of Aleppo, in the Al Hamdaniya neighborhood and under the control of government forces, although the National Salvation Government has rejected the accusations, calling the information “misleading propaganda of the regime.”
