A Palestinian man stabbed a woman to death and wounded three others in an attack in the central Israeli city of Holon on Sunday, which ended with the attacker being killed by police.
The attacker has been identified as a West Bank national who carried out the attacks within a 500-metre radius in what Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service has described as “a difficult and complex terrorist attack”.
The deceased was 66 years old and the other three injured are men aged 70, 68 and 26. The first of them, the deceased’s partner, is in critical condition, the second is in serious condition and the third has been seriously injured, according to the statement reported by the ‘Times of Israel’.
The Palestinian was identified as Amar Odeh, 34, from the West Bank town of Salfit, who had no entry permit and no criminal record, security sources told the same outlet.
Odeh was shot several times by security forces and was taken to Shamir Medical Centre in critical condition, before eventually succumbing to his injuries.
Almost simultaneously, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported an Israeli operation in Salfit, where all access is currently blocked.
