Oct. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 23-year-old Palestinian identified as Qais Imad Sheyaiya has died after being shot at on Friday night near the Yalazon refugee camp near Ramallah.
Israeli authorities have linked Shejaiya to an attack in which an Israeli settler was reportedly slightly injured by Palestinian militiamen shooting in the Jewish settlement of Beit El on Friday night.
The Israeli Army has reported that the young man was shot when he tried to flee from the place where a military operation was taking place.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that Sheyaiya’s body has been retained by the Israeli military. Already on Saturday the Israeli forces have raided the home of the deceased in Deir Yarir, searched it and arrested three people, according to Palestinian media.
The Israeli Army has reported that Sheyaiya has been in prison in Israel for belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) militia. In addition, images of the man wearing a Hamas headband and posing with a rifle have circulated on social networks.
With Shejaiya, there are three Palestinian citizens killed during the day on Friday in actions by the Israeli Armed Forces. The other two died in the city of Jenin, also in the West Bank. With these, there are already more than a hundred Palestinians killed in Israeli military operations so far this year.
