Authorities in the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), on Tuesday raised the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli offensive against the enclave to more than 37,900 following the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamist group and other Palestinian factions, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 240 kidnapped.
The Gazan Ministry of Health said in a statement that “the toll of the Israeli aggression has risen to 37,925 martyrs and 87,141 wounded since October 7,” while indicating that during the last 24 hours Israeli forces have committed three “massacres” in the Strip that have resulted in 25 dead and 81 wounded.
He also said that “there are several victims under the rubble and on the roads” and stressed that “ambulance and civil defence teams cannot reach them.” Gazan authorities have said that around 10,000 people are missing, so the death toll could be much higher than officially announced.
