November 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has tested positive for coronavirus for the third time on Tuesday, as confirmed by the Pakistani Information Minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb, who has asked to “pray” for the president’s health.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been unwell for two days,” Aurangzeb said in a message on his Twitter account.
Thus, he has indicated that “the coronavirus test has been carried out today at the recommendation of his doctor.” “The people and workers (of Sharif’s party) are asked to pray for the speedy recovery of the prime minister,” she said.
Sharif, who has recovered from cancer, has already tested positive for coronavirus in June 2020 and in January 2022, when he was the leader of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He returned to the country from the United Kingdom days ago after a visit to speak with his brother and party chief, Nawaz Sharif.
Sources close to the Sharif family cited by the Pakistani television network Geo TV have detailed that the prime minister had a fever on Saturday, before taking the flight to Pakistan, for which his family recommended that he not travel. Finally, he embarked on Sunday bound for Islamabad.
