MADRID Nov. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Pakistani authorities announced this Thursday that they have rescued 23 Iranian fishermen who had been stranded in the Gulf of Aden due to engine failure, with no casualties reported among the crew.
The Army Information Bureau (ISPR) of Pakistan has explained that the ship ‘PNS Zulfikar’ received a distress call from the Iranian fishing vessel ‘Al Mohamadi’ while carrying out a regional maritime security patrol.
According to a statement, the Pakistani military “immediately” repaired the damaged engine, while providing medical and technical assistance to the fishermen. “The humanitarian aid operation demonstrates the Navy’s commitment to the safety of ships,” he added.
