OXENFREE II delayed again; will not be ready in 2022

Although several companies will not go to gamescom 2022, Ubisoft confirms attendance

If you are a fan of suspenseful graphic adventures, surely you know of OXENFREE, an indie title that mixes this genre with the paranormal. The project did so well that a sequel is in development which sadly has just been delayed and will no longer arrive in 2022.

OXENFREE II: Lost Signals was planned for 2021, however before the end of that year it was announced that it would be delayed until 2022. No date had been revealed, but a hint suggested that it could debut before spring 2022. This did not happen and until now we did not know that there was happened with the project.

Well, today the developer Night School Studio confirmed that the game was delayed once again and unfortunately it will not be ready until 2023.

The studio took advantage of its Twitter account to share an update on the project and explained that it decided to delay the game again, this time until 2023, to make it “truly special and add more locations”.

“Seeing your fan art, reading your excited comments, and connecting with you fuels our ambition to make our best game yet,” said Night School Studio.

Although the news was unfortunate, fans received the update with understanding and encouraged the studio with messages of support to continue its development.

We remind you that Night School Studio revealed in 2021 that it was also preparing a television series of OXENFREE. Unfortunately, since then no further details of the project have been revealed.
