Today’s largest game developers and distributors often offer their own platforms to sell and distribute their titles. Epic Games has its own, Ubisoft too, and many more like Blizzard have their own client, battle.net in this case.
However, Valve’s Steam was the first and the one with the most users and games. The problem that this introduces for the user is having to install different platforms to be able to play different games depending on who distributes it. There are some proposals like GoG to try to unify the different platforms, but not all the games are there.
However, in recent years we have seen several companies start to offer their games on competing platforms, and now it is Blizzard, which has traditionally been quite protective of its games on battle.net, which has listened to users. and will begin offering some of its best-known titles on Steam.
The first will be Overwatch 2that Coming to Steam on August 10as long as we synchronize our Battle.net account with that of the Valve service.
At the moment there are no more announcements about specific Blizzard games that will come to Steam, but the company has assured that they will bring a selection to this platform.
