Organizers denounce at least three women detained by the Taliban during a march for women in Kabul

March 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least three women were reportedly detained by the Taliban this Sunday morning during the celebration in the Afghan capital, Kabul, of a new march to demand the reincorporation of women and girls into the working and educational life of the country.

The organizers of the march have identified the detainees as Fatima Mohammadi, Roqya Saee and Malalai Hashemi, all of them “arrested by the Taliban” and, for the moment, their whereabouts are unknown.

In comments to the Afghan chain Amu TV, the organizers denounce that they have been victims of violence during the concentration by the Taliban, whom they accuse of “having broken up with blows” the march.

It should be remembered once again that the fundamentalist movement has imposed a veto on women’s secondary and university education, and greatly restricted women’s access to the labor market.

Oblivious to the wave of criticism both from Western countries and from closer organizations such as the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Taliban limit themselves to arguing that they follow the precepts of Islamic law and anticipate from time to time possible relaxations of the veto. , without ever reaching a date.
