We play shooters with a gamepad, but it’s certainly not the most realistic. What if the gamepad transforms into a submachine gun?
There are many types of game controllers different, but this one has caught our attention. Is called one shotforks a gamepad that transforms into a submachine gun to shoot at the screen.
The shooter They are the most played video games, at least in the multiplayer field, with titles like Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, Fortnite, etc.
most play with a traditional gamepadalthough pro players opt for a mouse. They are comfortable and precise methods, but of course they are not realistic.
The most realistic and immersive way to play a shooter is in virtual reality, where you are in the game and controls become weapons with which you have to aim like in real life.
But if you can’t afford glasses, or virtual reality isn’t your thing, somewhere in between is this curious game controller.
OneShot, the gamepad that transforms into a submachine gun
one shot It is, a priori, a conventional gamepad with its two sticks, its action buttons, crosshead, triggers, etc. ANDs compatible with all PC games natively.
It also works onPlayStation, Xbox and Switch consoleswith a USB adapter included.
Its ergonomics as a gamepad is probably not the best, but it has an excuse: if you turn both knobs it becomes a submachine gun with which you can aim and shoot at the screen. It is compatible with all gameswithout the need for them to be programmed to use this aiming system.
There are two versions of the controller. OneShot employs a camera which is placed under the TV or monitor, and collects the position of the enemies, coordinating with the gun. OneShot X has motion sensors which translate the movement of the submachine gun into movement of the gamepad stick, so no camera required.
You can even mix the two game systems: when there is no combat you use gamepad mode, and when enemies appear you switch to gun mode, turning your wrists. You can see in action one shotin the opening video of the news.
This gamepad that turns into a submachine gun has been successfully funded on kickstarter. There it has a price of about 100 euros. A curious idea that can be useful in many games.
