MADRID Dec. 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least one soldier and seven suspected terrorists have died in two Pakistan Army operations in the Pakistani region of North Waziristan, in the northwest of the country and near the border with Afghanistan.

The Pakistani Army Press Office (ISPR) has identified the deceased soldier as Lance Naik Muhamad Amin, 34, “as a result of the intense exchange of fire,” according to a statement published on its website.

The ISPR has explained that its troops killed four alleged attackers as part of an Intelligence operation in the town of Miran Shah. In another operation, in this case in the town of Spinwam, the agents neutralized three other terrorists.

Pakistani security forces have carried out dozens of operations in recent months against the group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban and responsible for dozens of attacks against security forces since the ceasefire was broken. the fire in November 2022.

The TTP group, which differs from the Afghan Taliban in organizational matters but follows the same rigorous interpretation of Sunni Islam, brings together more than a dozen Islamist militant groups operating in Pakistan, where they have killed some 70,000 people in two decades of violence.
