At least one person has died in a new attack carried out by the Russian Army against a Ukrainian town in the province of Donetsk, partially occupied as part of the invasion launched in February 2022 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Donetsk Governor Vadim Filashkin said in a message on his Facebook account that the attack, which took place late on Tuesday, left at least one person dead and seven wounded. “Russia is killing civilians,” he said.
Donetsk, along with Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia, all of them partially occupied in the framework of the invasion – and in the case of Donetsk and Luhansk, the scene of a conflict between pro-Russian separatists and the Ukrainian army since 2014 – was annexed in October 2022 by Russia, a measure not recognized by the international community that was added to the annexation in 2014 of the Crimean peninsula.
