The “severe turbulence” recorded on a flight covering the route between London and Singapore has caused one death on board and an unknown number of injuries, as reported by the Singapore Airlines company.
The problems in mid-flight led to the diversion of the aircraft to Bangkok, where it ended up landing this Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. (local time). On board the aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, there were 211 passengers and 18 crew members.
“Singapore Airlines conveys its deep condolences to the family of the deceased. Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to passengers and crew on board,” the company said in a first statement. The company has sent a team to Thailand to facilitate this assistance.
