Oct. 15 () –

The deceased was traveling in a vehicle that was swept away by the current along with a woman who is being searched by rescue services in the municipality of Malevizio, in the Agia Pelagia region.

The rain has caused floods and has had to close the Heraklion International Airport, according to the Greek state news agency, AMNA.

Firefighters have reported at least nine vehicles swept away by currents in the town of Ligaria and its surroundings, where a woman whose vehicle ended up in the sea has been rescued. The Coast Guard is participating in the rescue efforts.
