Former National Football League (NFL) player Orenthal James Simpson, better known as OJ Simpson, died at the age of 76, his family reported this Thursday, April 11. However, he noted that the death occurred on Wednesday. The news of his death comes after Simpson faced a long battle with prostate cancer. The former athlete is remembered for the so-called “trial of the century,” which took place in the 1990s, when he was accused of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and his friend Ronald Goldman, in Los Angels. Although he was acquitted in that case, he was later found responsible for his death in a civil lawsuit. And years later, he was jailed for armed robbery and kidnapping.
