One of the outstanding features of the new intel arc graphics cards is the encoding and decoding using the AV1 codec. A free codec comparable to HEVC that offers practically all its advantages without having to pay royalties. This codec is also supported by the new NVIDIA RTX 40 Series, where they use exclusive engines that speed up this process. Reason for this the software OBS-Studio has been updated to support AV1 in its latest version.
OBS Studio version 28.1 now includes support for the AV1 codec and hardware acceleration with these NVIDIA RTX 40, thanks to the dual NV Encoders that achieve a higher efficiency of up to 40%. But there are some limitations in the use of this new AV1 codec, for the moment only works with this latest NVIDIA RTX 40 series. You are also limited in the color format used, P010 and the default by OBS Studio NV12. The function that allows to change the scale in the output is also not available.
