According to the latest rumors that have appeared on the internet, but which make complete sense if we take into account how close the launch of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series should already be, NVIDIA would have already given the order to stop practically all production of ADA architecture chips that make up the RTX 40 pairto focus on the new Blackwell GPUs of the RTX 50.
Specifically, there would have been paralyzed the manufacturing of the NVIDIA AD102, AD103, AD104 and AD106 GPUs. The only GPU of this architecture that would continue to be manufactured is the AD107, which gives life to the lower ranges with the GeForce RTX 4050 and RTX 4060. Traditionally, NVIDIA has always prioritized the higher ranges during launches, so it is expect the more powerful RTX 50 to coexist with these RTX 40 series GPUs.
With practically all of NVIDIA’s GPU production already switched to the Blackwell architecture, the launch of the RTX 50 for gaming should be closer than ever. Rumors and leaks point to a staggered launch during the first quarter of 2025, with the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 arriving first in January, the RTX 5070 in February and the RTX 5060 in March, although at the moment there is no confirmation from NVIDIA.
