Now available Unity 6, the game development engine updated with performance and stability improvements

Oct. 18 (Portaltic/EP) –

Unity Technologies has officially launched Unity 6 the latest version of its video game development engine and interactive experienceswhich includes performance and stability improvementswhich translates into access to faster rendering, advanced lighting options, better Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and “multiplayer workflows”, among other advances.

The video game software development company has shared its intention to continue improving the game creation platform to power and help developers create new titles “quickly and efficiently”in turn facilitating innovation.

In this sense, Unity Technologies has Unity 6 released globallythe “more stable and better performing” version of its development engine of video games to date, including multiple new tools and features to enhance your capabilities and experiences.

As the company has shared in a statement on his blogUnity 6 adds new features such as end-to-end multiplayer workflows that allow the development of connected games to be accelerated. Likewise, it also has tools that allow developers focus on mobile web. In this way, it will facilitate the creation of titles intended for mobile platforms, with compatibility for both browsers on iOS and Android devices.

On the other hand, Unity 6 has implemented new Graphics features offering faster rendering capabilities and advanced lighting options. This is due, in part, to the engine shifting workloads from the central processing unit (CPU) to the graphics processing unit (GPU), expanding CPU performance up to 4 times moreaccording to data collected in internal and customer tests.

In addition to all this, Unity has also indicated that this new version includes better AI capabilities, related to the Sentis neural network inference library and Runtime AI models.

LEARNING RESOURCES FOR DEVELOPERS

In addition to all this, Unity has presented some learning resources with which it will help developers carry out their creations. These resources are Designed so that users of all levels can start their games or deepen their development.

These resources are based, above all, on practical technical examples, demonstrations and electronic books with technical explanations. In this framework, one of these resources is Time Ghosta real-time cinematic showcase of what can be achieved with Unity 6, including advancements in environment creation and character design.

Likewise, developers can also use Megacity Metroa demo to learn how to create a cross-platform multiplayer game for 100+ players in Unity.

Following this line, with the demonstration Fantasy Kingdomdevelopers will learn how to create a “stylized” gaming environment with advanced rendering, “sophisticated lighting capabilities,” and universal rendering pipeline (URP) mobile optimization.

FUTURE UPDATES

As specified by the Unity President and CEO Matt Bromberg in another statementthis version has been created, tested and perfected in conjunction with “developers around the world”, in order to achieve the most stable version with the highest performance.

Likewise, Bromberg has also indicated that the company will expand the engine testing process and create “a continuous loop” of evaluationwith which developers can leave their comments and, based on this, continue implementing improvements in Unity.

In fact, under this approach, Bromberg has specified that they will maintain important product and engineering resources in Unit 6 “for many years longer than in previous LTS versions.” Likewise, he has shared his Commitment to support for at least two years after the next version is released. “We will do everything possible to ensure that Unity 6 is at the center of game development for years to come”has ruled on the matter.
