The Government of Norway announced this Thursday a “donation” of ‘Hellfire’ missiles and night vision equipment to Ukraine to support the Armed Forces of the European country in the face of the Russian invasion, triggered on February 24 by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
The Norwegian Defense Minister, Bjorn Arild Gram, made the announcement during a summit between defense ministers at the Ramstein air base in Germany, in which the United States revealed the approval of an additional package to deliver weapons to Ukraine for value of 675 million euros.
Gram has emphasized that these missiles “are the weapon that Ukraine has asked for” and added that “they will be useful in their fight against the invading Russian forces.” “The missile is easy to operate and can be used against land and sea targets,” she said.
“Until now, we and our allies have donated military systems and equipment from our warehouses. In the future, we will need to cooperate closely with the defense industry to maintain the necessary deliveries of military equipment to Ukraine. This will ensure that Ukraine receives more modern equipment. and efficient”, he stressed.
