17 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The North Korean authorities have assured this Monday that it is developing nuclear weapons “in self-defense” and has accused the United Nations Security Council of “interfering” in its internal affairs.
The vice president of the North Korean Central Military Commission, Ri Pyong Chol, has indicated that the country continues with its “self-defense measures”, which are “legitimate” to protect Pyongyang from the threats posed by the United States, according to information from the Yonhap News Agency.
Ri is known precisely for having promoted the country’s ballistic and nuclear program since the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, came to power at the end of 2011. Now, his words come shortly after the authorities have launched a missile intercontinental ballistic ‘Hwasong 18’, which has solid fuel.
Likewise, he has taken the opportunity to condemn the actions of the United States, which he has accused of “threatening” and carrying out “provocations”, also through the use of the UN Security Council.
