North Korea says it has found the remains of a South Korean drone that entered the country

MADRID 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The North Korean Defense Ministry has assured that it has in its possession the remains of an alleged South Korean reconnaissance drone, as it reported a week ago in an accusation that Seoul has completely rejected.

The spokesperson, in statements reported by the official North Korean news agency, KCNA, assures that “thanks to an intense search” the remains of the device were identified and recovered in the municipality of Hyongjesan, in the northeast of Pyongyang, on October 13. .

After an analysis of the plane, it was “scientifically proven” that it came from South Korea and it appears to be a “light drone for long-range reconnaissance.”

The device, the spokesperson says, contained equipment installed by the Drone Operation Command of the South Korean Army and, judging by the remaining fuel, the device could have been used up to a week before its presumed accident, according to the Northeast.

“Despite the blatant excuses presented by the military” of South Korea, “objective evidence and scientific analysis clearly demonstrate” that the South Korean military “has committed a hostile provocative act.”

The spokesman warned of an “immediate retaliatory attack” if another violation of the North’s territory is confirmed, whose Army is on alert to observe future incursions near the border.

In a subsequent statement, a spokesman for the South Korean Army General Staff downplayed North Korea’s accusation. “It doesn’t help to answer this,” he said.
