June 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The North Korean Army launched a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan this Wednesday morning, an action that it had not carried out since the end of May, and which is part of the continuous increase in tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

This was announced by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Army, which has not given more details on the matter, as published by the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

Pyongyang already warned on Monday that it would take new and “overwhelming” measures of “deterrence” in the face of the deployment by the United States of a nuclear-armed aircraft carrier to the Korean peninsula, a decision that North Korean authorities have described as a “provocation.” .

It should be noted that North Korea has sent more than 2,000 balloons with garbage towards South Korean territory in just one month in response to the launch of propaganda leaflets against the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, to which Seoul could respond with the resumption of a war. psychological through propaganda broadcasts through loudspeakers at the border.

The two Koreas are still technically at war since the war that took place between 1950 and 1953 ended with the signing of an armistice agreement and not a peace treaty.
