No HBO Max series would be safe from cancellation at any time

The only licenses that seem safe from any kind of cancellation are those of DC.

The HBO Max that we are currently enjoying will be completely different from next year, and it is that the latest changes announced by the company directed by David Zaslav, not only make series and movies disappear by surprise day by day, but also that important series or license that you like so much could end up disappearing at any time.

And it is that although series like The Peacemaker seemed to be safe from any type of cut or cancellation, now a source has pointed out to Deadline, via comic book, that no project is safe.

“These programs are safe today, but no project is completely safe in the long run. Everything is being evaluated. They’re going to look at all of them it’s all being financially driven right now so just because it’s safe today doesn’t mean they won’t look back and say cancellation is the best option”, comments the source.

In any case, it seems that the DC projects are the safest at the moment because the David Zaslavresponsible for HBO Max, commented that DC “is one of the first on the list for us” pointing out that it is “one of the company’s largest pieces of intellectual property” and that they want to turn DC Films into a competitor for Disney’s Marvel Cinematics Universe.

“We have done a reset. We have restructured the business. We are going to concentrate. There will be a team with a 10-year plan focused only on DC. And as part of that, we’re going to focus on quality. We’re not releasing any movies before it’s ready.Zaslav added.

In this way, the future Warner Bros Discovery service will focus more on quality than quantitywith which you may see the premiere of movies or series in a smaller number of them month after month, but what is released will be of a very good level.

However, the rest of the streaming services are going the same way, avoiding second-tier projects to focus on great quality projects.
