Nissan X-Trail e-Power redefines the driving experience with its e-4ORCE technology

Nissan X-Trail e-Power has set a new standard in the local automotive industry with the introduction of its advanced technology that positions it as the first extended-range electric vehicle in Chile.

In addition to its e-Power technology, based on two electric motors, one of the secrets of its success lies in its electrified all-wheel drive, e-4ORCE.

“e-4ORCE” refers to vehicle power and control at all four wheels, covering three main areas: electric motor control, 4WD control and chassis control. So, rather than relying on traditional mechanical mechanisms, e-4ORCE uses electric motors that allow torque distribution that can be adjusted in just 1/10,000 of a second, maximising tyre grip. This reaction speed is critical to maintaining optimum stability and traction, regardless of road conditions, whether on wet, slippery or even snow-covered surfaces.

“This technology is not just a traction system, but an innovation that transforms driving into something much more controlled, precise and safe, clearly differentiating itself from any other traction system on the market,” says Francisco Medina, Electric Vehicle Manager at Nissan Chile.

In addition, e-4ORCE manages chassis control and vehicle pitch, resulting in a smoother, more comfortable driving experience for all occupants. This system anticipates driver input and adjusts the vehicle to minimise understeer, keeping the car on the intended path with less steering correction. This not only improves driving precision, but also reduces driver fatigue, making long journeys more bearable.

Another differentiating feature of e-4ORCE is its ability to maximise energy regeneration, which increases vehicle efficiency and contributes to sustainability, a key pillar of the Nissan Ambition 2030 vision.

“The combination of safer traction, more precise handling and efficient regeneration makes e-4ORCE an invaluable technology for those looking for a vehicle that offers more than just transportation: a comprehensive, safe and environmentally friendly driving experience,” adds Francisco Medina.

This technology is not just a traction system, but an innovation that transforms driving into something much more controlled, precise and safe.

The innovation that e-4ORCE offers, among other qualities, has earned the vehicle numerous international awards.

The SUV has been awarded titles such as “Imported Car/SUV of the Year 2023” by the Automotive Industry Journalists (PIA) and “Best Large SUV” at the Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY). In addition, it has been recognized as “FIPA 2024 Electric Car of the Year”, and took second place in the “Car of the Year 2024” by the Premia Group in Argentina. X-Trail e-POWER was also voted “Imported Car and SUV of the Year” at the 2023 Autocosmos Awards.

“These awards reflect Nissan’s commitment to excellence and innovation, positioning the X-Trail e-Power as a benchmark in the automotive market, transforming every trip into a unique experience, especially for those who value safety, control and efficiency,” concludes Nissan’s electric vehicle manager.
