Ninth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society of Latin America and the Caribbean

By virtue of the agreements approved by the Governments, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in its capacity as Technical Secretariat, fundamentally fulfills the following functions:
• Provides technical support to the Regional Monitoring Mechanism of the Digital Agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean (eLAC), specifically to the Board of Directors and its Presidency, and facilitates the articulation and coordination of the Working Groups.

• Produces studies and substantive information, in addition to preparing newsletters and maintaining the virtual collaborative space.

• Supports the organization of the Ministerial Conference on the Information Society of Latin America and the Caribbean and its preparatory meetings.

Meeting objectives
The objective of the Ninth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society of Latin America and the Caribbean is to examine progress in the implementation of the Digital Agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean (eLAC2024) and the agreements approved during the Eighth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society of Latin America and the Caribbean. Information Society of Latin America and the Caribbean, held in 2022, in addition to advancing cooperation commitments for the implementation of the future digital agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean (eLAC2026).
