Nintendo has confirmed that it will present its new game console, successor to Nintendo Switch, during this fiscal year, while announcing a new Nintendo Direct event scheduled for next June, which will deal with the games that will come to this ‘hardware’ in the second half of this year.

The Japanese video game company announced the first Nintendo Switch in 2015, although its launch took place two years later. Since then it has released several updates, such as the Nintendo Switch model with longer battery life and the model with OLED screen, without forgetting the portable only version, SwitchLite.

Now him Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has confirmed that they will announce the company’s next console, successor to the current Nintendo Switch, during this fiscal year, which extends until the month of March 2025.

This is what the manager has detailed in a post by X (former Twitter) from the NintendoCoLtd account, in which he explained that after “more than nine years” since they announced the existence of Nintendo Switch, They will unveil the new console no later than March next year.

Following this line, Furukawa has also announced that they will carry out a Nintendo Direct event next June. However, he stressed that it will be a presentation that will collect news about “the Nintendo Switch software line for the second half of 2024.”

With this, Nintendo has clarified that during the event no information related to the successor console to Nintendo Switch will be shared. Instead, they will be released new games and updates of the company for the second half of this year.
